The Town of Oro Valley is a well balanced and well planned community that prides itself on the highest standards of environmental integrity, public safety and economic sustainability. It is located in northern Pima County, 6 miles north of Tucson and was incorporated in 1974. The valley itself was formed by the Santa Cruz River joining Gold Creek in the Catalina Mountains. The town sits at an elevation of 2620 feet, covers over 34 square miles and has a current population of 40,000 and growing.

Oro Valley is home of the Hilton El Conquistador Resort, Pusch Ridge Golf Course, Hilton El Conquistador Country Club in Canada Hills, The Golf Club at Vistoso, Oro Valley Country Club, Sun City Vistoso Golf Club and The Stone Canyon Golf Club.

The area of Oro Valley has been inhabited intermittently for nearly two thousand years by various groups . The Native American Hohokam tribe lived in the Honeybee Village located in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains on Oro Valley’s far north side around 50 AD. Hohokam artificats are still being discovered.

Oro Valley homes range from luxury homes, golf course homes, subdivisions for families and retirement communities. Many refer to Oro Valley as the new Scottsdale/Paradise Valley.
